The delivery usually arrives between 9am and 11am. When the truck arrives, take any taped waxed boxes and apple crates down on the trolley and start unpacking the truck. It is important to note that the totals from Back To Eden are often a little off, as some prices get changed since it is emailed the previous day. Don’t be worried by this but make sure everything on the invoice has been delivered. If anything isn’t delivered, write this on the sheet you have to sign – you might get lucky and the driver might be able to call BTE and get someone else to deliver it. Separate bulk orders and then you're ready to make all your volunteers do the hard work distributing vegetables. If you want, you can make them happy by providing tea or cutting up any spare oranges.

Crate returns

When we give our suppliers a crate back, we get $10 back. To get this back, we need to get the paperwork right – you need how many crates we returned in the crate-return column of the driver’s sheet you sign. Also record on the split list if we received any or returned any crates so the finance coordinator knows. Finance coordinator deals with the actual return of the $10 when they pay the invoice.

Credit notes

If you receive bad produce or don’t receive something at all you will need to send a credit note to BTE. This can be found in the email they send each week with the order list. Download and save it to the drop box, write what wasn’t received/ was bad quality and how much it was. If the reason is bad quality take photos and send these as well giving details on what was wrong and how much of the box was bad.
