Getting the scales recalibrated

Every 2 years, we're required to recalibrate the scales to make sure they're accurate.

There's a sticker on the scales that says when they were last calibrated. It costs quite a bit, so make sure it's approved by a meeting.

It normally costs about $200.

Our scales were last re-calibrated in August 2014.

The name of the company that does it is Brice. Their phone number is 9838 0505.

Renewing the business name

Every 3 years, we get a letter from the NSW Office of Fair Trading, asking us to renew our business name. Our business name is “Pigweed Food Cooperative, trading as Thoughtful Foods”. It costs $110 to renew (or did last time). One of our directors needs to sign the form, and then we mail them a cheque.

Oktoberfest

Make sure we warn members in the fortnight coming up to Oktoberfest that they'll have trouble parking, and won't be able to pass through the gap between the Roundhouse and the Squarehouse after about 12pm.

In order to prevent drunken hooligans coming up and trying to find a way around the Roundhouse, it's a good idea to talk to the closest security guard and ask them to shepherd people away from us.

We need to take all the money out overnight (from all places we have money), in case we get broken into.
