At times of heavy rain the build up of water on the roof of thoughtful foods and outside the co-op (near the garden) can cause damage to equipment, goods and stock. Such damage can be very expensive and is undesirable- we don’t want it to happen! The role of the storm warden is to take on hero- like characteristics and save the co-op from the ‘evils’ of storm damage.

Saving the co-op from storm damage means taking notice of the weather and times of heavy rain, donning a rain- proof costume and rushing like the speed of light to the co-op (with your flashlight, as it’s advised the you refrain from turning on any electricals).

At the co-op a storm warden will fight storm damage by saving equipment and stocks from leaks in the ceiling, moving these items out of the way of leaks, mopping up water from the ground and putting buckets under leaks- thus saving the co-op for another day!

This position is most suited to someone who lives very close to the co-op, so it’s easy and quick to get there when needed.
