Receiving veggie delivery

The delivery usually arrives between 9am and 11am. There is often just enough time beforehand to set up tables and boxes for the week. If you have a volunteer with you when the order arrives (yay!) one person can check off items as they come out.

It is important to note that the totals from Back To Eden are often a little off, as some prices get changed since it is emailed the previous day. I don't know why. Check that the total is about right, subtract the price of any crates we are returning (they are $10 deposit each) and pay them by cheque (Instructions are in the how to do stuff book).

Separate bulk orders and then you're ready to make all your volunteers do the hard work distributing vegetables. If you want, you can make them happy by providing tea or cutting up any spare oranges.

Crate returns

When we give our suppliers a crate back, we get $10 back. To get this back, we need to get the paperwork right – you need to write and initial on the driver's copy of the sign-off sheet, in the crate-return column.

Then you take $10 off the invoiced amount, so pay $10 less than what's there.
